Performances:

Shinedown is an American hard rock band from Jacksonville, Florida, formed in 2001 and founded by members Brent Smith, Brad Stewart, Jasin Todd, and Barry Kerch. The group has released three albums on Atlantic Records. They have issued popular singles such as "45", "Heroes", "Save Me", "Devour", "Sound of Madness", "Second Chance", and "If You Only Knew". All of their eleven singles to date have climbed into the Top 5 of the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, making them the first to accomplish the feat. Shinedown's musical influences are Otis Redding, Pink Floyd, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Soundgarden, Iron Maiden, Stone Temple Pilots, and Foo Fighters.

In January 2009 the band embarked on a European tour, supported by Brighton rock four-piece The Crave. This was their first headlining tour of Europe, brought around in part by their supporting of Disturbed through Europe the previous fall.

On July 1, 2009, Shinedown began the "Stimulate This" tour with Staind. Also, the tour featured Chevelle and Halestorm at the Peoria Civic Center in Peoria, Illinois.

On May 5, 2009, a Shinedown concert was filmed for MTV2, it is due to be premiered on MTV2 some time in late August. The show was shot at The Tabernacle in Atlanta, Georgia. Halestorm and Number One Contender opened the show.

Shinedown played at the Download Festival, held at Donington Park in the UK, in 2009. During an interview with Kerrang at the festival, Brent Smith stated that they plan to play new material when they return in late 2009.

Shinedown re-released their albums, "Leave A Whisper" and "Us and Them" as Deluxe Editions. The albums were only be available digitally. Between the two albums, the band will release 25 unreleased tracks, seven of which were never before heard. The deluxe editions were scheduled for a July 7, 2009 release.

Shinedown supported the highly anticipated Stimulate This! Tour with Staind. The tour kicked off July 1 and ran through the end of August. Other acts included Chevelle, Halestorm, and Lo-Pro. Prices for everything involved (tickets, parking, merchandise etc.) were reduced where possible in a conscious effort by the bands involved to give the consumers the best value possible for their money.

On August 29th, 2009, Shinedown performed a free concert at the New York State Fair in Syracuse, NY. The hour and 20 min show brought in just under 20,000 people from all over the state. The size of the crowd was more than hired security could handle, and over 40 state troopers were called in for crowd control. This was stated to be the largest crowd ever drawn for a free concert in NYS fair history.

Shinedown will kicked off their fall 2009 headline tour in Baltimore, MD on September 10, 2009. They performed at the Baltimore Ravens kickoff party. The show was free and included, Tantric, Cavo, Halestorm and Egypt Central. The remainder of the Headline tour will be supported by Sick Puppies, Adelitas Way, and Cavo.

November 18th, 2009 brought the release of "The Sight of Madness" the band's second performance DVD. The DVD features the band's videos and five live videos from an early 2009 performance at the Tabernacle in Atlanta.

On December 18th, the video for "Second Chance" ranked #7 on VH1's Top 40 Music Video's of 2009. It was helped to that ranking due to being on the countdown for 20 weeks.

A short European tour will get underway on the 4th of November in Manchester, England and will finish in Luxembourg on the 20th of November. Support for all of these gigs will be from Soil (band) and Counterpoint.

Shinedown have also been confirmed to be playing at the Soundwave (Australian music festival) 2010 festival in Australia.

Shinedown was nominated for the "Alternative Rock" category at the American Music Awards in 2009. Other nominees included, Green Day and Kings of Leon. The nomination was due to the radio success of their hit single "Second Chance". UPDATE: Green Day ultimately won the award for that category.

Shinedown embarked on a 4 day rock cruise from Tampa to Grand Cayman Islands as part of VH1's Best Cruise Ever. The rock cruise was headlined by 3 Doors Down. Lifehouse and Shinedown provided support. The cruise also featured over 8 more bands including Carolina Liar, and Black Stone Cherry.

Shinedown kicked off their next installment of "The Sound of Madness" tour in Wallingford, CT on December 3, 2009. The first show was supported by Five For Fighting, Train, Aaron Lewis and Uncle Kracker. The dates following will be supported by Papa Roach and Halestorm.

During shows on December 15th in Rockford, Illinois and December 18th in Biloxi, Mississippi, the band joined Papa Roach on stage to record a live version of U2's "Beautiful Day" for Papa Roach's forthcoming live album.

In 2010, the support lineup for the next leg of "The Sound of Madness" tour switches to Puddle of Mudd, Skillet, and Like A Storm through March.

Nickelback recently announced dates confirming Breaking Benjamin, Shinedown, and Sick Puppies as support for the spring leg of the 2010 Dark Horse North American tour. The tour kicks off April 6

Separately Shinedown will be releasing a song on the Alice in Wonderland soundtrack due out March 2nd. The name of the track to be released is "Her Name is Alice". It will be hitting the airwaves soon. A clip of the track is currently available on Alice In Wonderland's site. The song leaked to youtube.
